Gatewatch is a long-standing tradition at the Westgate Cabana Club, when a member greets and checks in other members at the gatewatch desk. Gatewatch promotes the safety and security of our pool by ensuring that only members and their guests enter the facility. This helps keep our costs low for members each season, otherwise we would need to pay a staff member to perform this work.

  • Requirements

    • Each family must complete 3 shifts (2-3 hours each) throughout the season.
    • All instructions and materials needed to perform the gatewatch duties are located at the gatewatch desk.

  • Duties

    • Greet members and remind them about our parking restrictions
    • Check in members.
    • Check in guests and ensure they complete the liability waiver
    • Sell popsicles
    • Help members and guests find answers to their questions or information about the club
    • Enforce pool rules as needed
    • Assist lifeguard or members as needed

  • Reservations

    • Login to your account and navigate to Reservations → Make Reservations
    • Select Gatewatch facility group
    • Navigate to an available date with open shifts
    • Select your desired shift
    • Select Member who will perform the shift
    • Select email(s) to receive a confirmation and reminder 1 day prior (optional)
    • Select Book It
    • Your gatewatch shift will now show up under Reservations →My Reservations. You can Edit the reservation as needed.

    Please note: reservations may display as “Free” in the reservation system. This can be disregarded.

  • Cancellations

    • Please cancel at least 72 hours in advance to allow another member the opportunity to take your spot.
    • Login to your account and navigate to Reservations → My Reservations
    • Select CANCEL for the shift that you are unable to perform
    • Select CONFIRM DELETE
    • If applicable, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you entered for the reservation
