Preseason Only: For 8th grade and under. No volunteer requirements.

PreComp Team: Parents of children are required to volunteer 5 Gatewatch or Deck Cleaning sessions (75 minutes each) during the swim team practice time. Includes up to 3 weeks of preseason (optional).

Competitive Team: Parents of children are required to volunteer (15 hours for 1 child, 20 hours for 2 children, or 25 hours for 3 or more children). Includes up to 3 weeks of preseason (optional).

Swim Team Parent Volunteer Commitment

Volunteers are the KEY to success of our swim team. Unlike other youth sports, where generally a handful of people can run the team, a swim program simply can not be run without parental help and participation, and lots of it. Each year more than 15,000 volunteer hours are completed by the parents.

PreComp Team
Parental participation is a requirement.
Sign-up for 5 Gatewatch or Deck Cleaning sessions (75 to 90 minutes each) during swim practice times.
Volunteer hours due but not contributed will be billed to my account at the end of the season at the rate of $30 per unfilled hour.
Hours worked must be submitted on the Volunteer Hours Report and provided to the Volunteer Coordinator.
Competition Team
Parental participation is a requirement.
Register for the many volunteer options available.
Contribute 3 items to the snack bar when we host home swim meets.
Volunteer 15 hours for 1 swimmer, 20 hours for 2 swimmers, or 25 hours for 3+ swimmers.
Attend 2 swim meets in order to meet the amount of required volunteer hours; May request additional job responsibilities from the Volunteer Coordinator if additional hours are needed.

Photo/Video Release

Photographs and video are regularly taken by parents, swimmers and coaches during Westgate Swim Team practice, meets and events with the primary goal of producing an end of the season video for the enjoyment of the swim team participants and their families. Photos and videos may also be posted on the website at westgatecabana.com. I understand that there may be photos and videos taken while participating in these swim team activities. The Westgate Swim Team, parent volunteers, swimmers and coaching staff, have my permission to use these photos for the end of the season video, on the website and other swim team marketing materials. I understand that I may contact the Swim Team Director, Claudia Smith, in writing if I would like a photo of myself or my child removed from these sources.
